The Nalandabodhi Toronto community provides space for individual exploration while ensuring we aren’t alone on our journey. We work together to bring kindness and compassion into our daily lives. By connecting with each other for support in difficult times and for celebration in joyful ones, our personal transformation process is enriched in many welcome ways.

We have weekly meditation practices online on Saturday mornings, a hybrid Sangha Gathering Day once a month, as well as classes, workshops and special events.  We host dharma teachings, mindfulness and arts-based workshops, and more. Please see our calendar for updated information.  You can subscribe to our Friends List newsletter to keep informed about NBT news and events.  Just enter your name and email address at the bottom of any page on this website. Weekly Meditation

We offer online meditation sessions Saturdays at 10:00am.  At the beginning, we provide brief instructions for newcomers in the basics of Shamatha (calm abiding) meditation. On the fourth Saturday of most months we host a hybrid Sangha Gathering Day with additional meditation practices.  Please see our calendar for further information.

After practice on Sangha Gathering Days, those at the centre enjoy socializing over a potluck lunch.  This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know like-minded people who attend our centre and to ask our members questions. We look forward to meeting you.

Our Home and Neighbourhood

Nalandabodhi Toronto’s home is located in a revitalized 100 year-old red brick warehouse on the corner of Dundas and Carlaw Streets, with accessible entry at 1159 Dundas St. East, #153  (click here). Our ground floor condo is open and spacious with high ceilings, kitchen and loft. We share the building with an eclectic mix of tenants, from arts and culture ventures to small businesses. An assortment of eateries and cafes can be found just steps from our centre.

Leslieville is a vibrant and growing hub, home to people of all ages, with theatres, health and fitness clubs and businesses. Our centre is easily reached by public transportation from many areas of Toronto, and it is close to the Gerrard Station of the Ontario subway line currently under construction.

A Brief History of Nalandabodhi Toronto

The Nalandabodhi Toronto sangha first formed in 2003 as a study group under the direction of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche. In 2008, our community had grown large enough to lease a space on Spadina Ave. near Queen St. West. In February 2019, we moved to our new site where we serve the community of Leslieville, the wider Toronto area, and well beyond.

Over the years we have been fortunate to host our Rinpoche, Lamas and Mitras (senior teachers) for workshops, lectures and retreats. We look forward to continuing visits from our wonderful Nalandabodhi teachers.

The larger Nalandabodhi community in Canada

Canada has five Nalandabodhi sanghas which support and operate under the umbrella of Nalandabodhi Canada.  In return, NB Canada provides them with administrative services and policy guidance and helps facilitate communication among them.  It serves as the liaison between Nalandabodhi’s headquarters in Seattle and its Canadian members and brings a Canadian perspective to issues affecting our global sangha.  It also oversees Nalandabodhi Foundation which conveys charitable status to the sanghas.

You’ll find more information about NB Canada and the sanghas in Halifax, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver at Connect With Us – Nalandabodhi International.
