The Nalandabodhi Toronto community provides space for individual exploration while ensuring we aren’t alone on our journey. We work together to bring kindness and compassion into our daily lives. By connecting with each other for support in difficult times and for celebration in joyful ones, our personal transformation process is enriched in many welcome ways.

We have ongoing weekly meditation practices on Saturday morning and Wednesday evening, with additional scheduled classes, workshops and events. We host dharma teachings, mindfulness and arts-based workshops, and more. Please see our calendar for updated information. Subscribe to our Friends List newsletter to keep in touch with events and NBT news. The subscription form is found at the bottom of every page, or (subscribe here) on our Connect page, choosing the Subscribe to Friends List option. Weekly Meditation

We offer meditation on Saturdays 10:30-11:30am and on Wednesday evenings 6:30-7:00pm. At the beginning, we provide brief instruction in the basics of Shamatha (calm abiding) meditation for newcomers. Two Saturdays a month we offer additional meditation practices followed by a potluck lunch. Please see our calendar for further information.

After our Saturday meditation practice, we share coffee/tea and conversation. This is a wonderful opoprtunity to get to know like-minded people who attend our centre and to ask our members questions. We look forward to meeting you.

Our Home and Neighbourhood

The new home for Nalandabodhi Toronto is located in a revitalized 100-yr-old red brick warehouse on the corner of Dundas and Carlaw Streets, with accessible entry at 1159 Dundas St. East, #153  (click here). Our ground floor condo is open and spacious with high ceilings, kitchen and loft. We share the building with an eclectic mix of tenants, from arts and culture ventures to small businesses. An assortment of eateries and cafes can be found just steps from our centre.

Leslieville is a vibrant and growing hub, home to people of all ages, with theatres, health and fitness clubs and businesses. Easily reached by public transportation from many areas of Toronto, it is also on the planned downtown relief line.

A Brief History of Nalandabodhi Toronto

The Nalandabodhi Toronto sangha first formed in 2003 as a study group under the direction of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche. In 2008, our community had grown large enough to lease a space on Spadina Ave near Queen St. West. As of February 2019, we moved to our new site where we serve the community of Leslieville, the wider Toronto area, and well beyond.

Over the years we have been fortunate to host our Rinpoche, Lamas and Mitras (senior teachers) for workshops, lectures and retreats. We look forward to continuing visits from our wonderful Nalandabodhi teachers.
