Over the holiday season members of the Toronto Sangha came together for a three day, residential silent retreat. The retreat ran from December 27th to the 30th, and provided an opportunity for members to experience the three paths – the Path of Practice, the Path of Study and the Path of Mindful Activity.
For the Path of Practice, the retreat included twelve hours of meditation, with opportunities for individual practice and walking meditation through country trails.
Our Path of Study included individual study and watching DVDs of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche’s teaching on “Transforming Happiness and Suffering” from the 2012 Canadian Retreat.
Our daily chores provided ample opportunity to engage in the Path of Mindful Activity, and were an excellent reminder to bring mindfulness back to our daily lives at the close of our retreat.
